Designed for the effects of both wind and dead loads developed by wind velocities ranging from 90 to-150 mph based on 3-second gust wind speeds. The pole material used is high-strength, low-alloy steel conforming to the requirements of ASTM A595 Grade-A or ASTM A572. All welding complies with American Welding Society specification for structural welding. Poles in excess of 40 feet in length are designed as two- or 3-piece structures with a minimum of 1.5 times diameter slip fit at each joint.
